Hoffman FamilyDear Hutchinson Families, Prospective Families, and Community Members,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year. We are excited to begin the year as we have so much to look forward to.
As a staff, we will continue to focus on setting high expectations for ourselves as well as for our students, academically as well as
behaviorally. We will begin our new reading program this year called Into Reading. The staff will engage in professional development to enhance our skills in reading instruction using this resource. We are also excited to continue the Energy Bus program at our school. The Energy Bus for Schools program is designed to fuel our school, teachers and students with positive energy. Research clearly shows that culture and leadership greatly influence a school’s learning environment and students’ academic success. Positive school climates are linked to increased high school graduation rates, turnarounds in low-performing schools, reduced school violence, and increased communication among students, families and faculty. The program focuses on 10 rules. Each month we will focus on one rule. As an example, the first rule we are focusing on is “You’re the Driver of your Bus”. WE are excited to continue this program and hope you will also see the positive affects of it at home as well!

Please see below for ways to get involved at Hutchinson. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!

There are many ways to get involved at Hutchinson Elementary:

PIE (Partners in Education) - Families, Staff and community members work together to provide input in decision making here at Hutchinson. We discuss assessment data, educational programming, budget, school initiatives and community partnerships.

PTO – Supports with school fundraising efforts and provides our students, staff, and families with valuable resources and community events to help students succeed. You can find more information on their website at http://hutchinsonpto.org/.

Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) – Father figures, come spend a day at Hutchinson walking the halls, joining us at recess, and supporting with school safety and education. Eat lunch with your kiddos and spend some time in their classroom. We are hopeful that JCPH guidelines allow for visitors and that we can begin this wonderful program again this year.

Volunteer - Please reach out to your child's teacher for times and days you can volunteer in the classroom. We are excited to welcome back our parent volunteers!!

At Home - Talk to your child’s teacher about ways to support your student from home.

Finally, please don’t hesitate to contact me for any reason. My number at school is 303-982-9561. You can also email me at [email protected] I’m looking forward to an amazing school year!
